I’M SO HAPPY
my therapist taught me to start thinking of my anxiety as my panicky friend
this is so cute omg
Woah this is super useful!!
For all my anxious friends out there.
This totally works! Some of us get stuck in the sense that we *are* our emotions, so they overwhelm us and we can’t do anything about them. When you give your emotion an identity separate from you, it gives you the distance to make better judgments about it, and to comfort yourself better. 10/10 therapy veterans would recommend.
Reblogging both for cute-ness and good advice for any of my friends who might have to deal with anxiety like this <3
Ellis Ann Hellen King has always wanted to be a princess, and her wish all but comes true when her father becomes a very prominent senator in their home country of Terra. When he falls from power, though, Ellis has to go back to living like a normal person, being a burden on her parents with her pricey wants and needs. So, rather than make life hard for them, she decides to take off and travel on her own.
Luckily, her bodyguard Selena isn’t willing to leave her charge, even with the risk of sacrificing her standing and her pay. The two set out to make a life for themselves, but Ellis has never been out in the real world and Selena’s work is cut out for her just trying to keep the young girl safe from the various dangers that lurk around every corner…
I have just published my first novella! I’m very nervous and very excited about it at the same time… But, if I could get some help here, I would really appreciate it.
Just signal boost the heck out of this, please! Even if you have no interest in the story, please just get the word out there for me. And hey, if you wanna purchase yourself a digital copy and read through it, I would love that even more.
Thank you so, so much!
I really needed to get this out because I keep seeing this EVERYWHERE on Tumblr in regards of How to Train Your Dragon 3 (possibly 4). This is just my opinion and not meant to offend anyone…
But I’m kind of really irritated at people for wanting Hiccup and Astrid to get married and have kids in the next movie or the fourth.
I’ve gotta respectfully disagree with this post. Idk about the books because I’ve yet to read them but the movies have proven themselves as more than good enough on their own and they are not solely about friendship and finding oneself. They’re about friendship, romance (and not just Hiccup and Astrid, STOICK AND VALKA ANYONE???), rivalry, family, joy, heartbreak, loyalty, epic battles between good and evil, awesome cool scenes of kids flying through the clouds on dragons-! Man vs. self, man vs. nature, man vs. man, man vs. society: HTTYD HAS IT ALL. Friendship is definitely a theme, of course, but can you really say that Hiccup’s relationship with Toothless is more important than his relationship with his dad, or even his relationship with Astrid? (Mind you if it weren’t for Astrid, Hiccup and Toothless would’ve flown off into the sunset by themselves partway through the first movie and we wouldn’t have a whole island of Vikings trying to make things right after finally getting over their unnecessary hatred of an entire species. If it weren’t for Astrid most of the village would’ve gotten wiped out by the Green Death. She’s an important character plotwise and has a very significant relationship with Hiccup, being his most vocal and CONSTANT supporter. She contributes a lot to his growth, seeing strength and potential in him when he doesn’t always see it in himself and giving him the push he needs at critical moments.)
I could go on forever about Astrid and the Hiccup/Astrid relationship because I do love her and I ship it like FedEx because they are written so freaking well, especially in the second movie, and that’s my point, I guess. The people making these movies are amazing and they don’t have to limit themselves to telling only certain parts of a story. “Stop expecting romance and focus on the friendship and coming of age story”? Nah bro, I’m gonna be greedy. I want the perfect balance of all of the things because that’s what I’ve come to expect from these movies, and after the first two I have complete and utter faith that Dreamworks can deliver. I’m not expecting Hiccup and Astrid to get married and have their own family (though I think it would be totally in line with the story so far, Hiccup becoming a young man and building his own life) because I don’t have any specific expectations for the next movie—well, none beyond “it’s gonna be awesome and perfect and I’m probably gonna cry like fifty times”.
